why do you want to study?

Ask the question to yourself first and then give an answer to it.
Okay I hope you have an answer for yourself now.
India is a country with huge population where in everyone is putting their maximum efforts for the survival. And because of this cat and mouse race, the education system has basically become the means of survival and not the means to learn or gain knowledge.
There are two categories of students. One who are forced to study something and the second who study by their interest or passion.
Let me put it this way. Today, the first category students are joining schools or colleges either for the reputation of studying in an institution, by the force of people around them or for a better job in future. The students have totally forgotten the core reason for joining an institution or I can say, they have forgotten why they are joining a course. Some students are unknowingly going in the wrong direction where as some are pushed into. I mean they are pushed either by the parents or the people around them. Right from KG to PG, the fate of a child is decided either by his/her parents or relatives.
Now let me talk about the students who select the colleges or courses by their interest or passion. Yes, they select courses by their choice, But the question is, why are they still failing in achieving their goals. Well, I think the only reason behind the failure of this category of students is the Education System.
And this system is not only responsible for the failure of any one category of students but for all. I hope, most of you reading this article will agree to this point.
So how do we get over this? Ever thought of it?
So, this article is written keeping in mind about all those students who are in a state of confusion in choosing a college or a course and those (Working sector/parents) who wanted to do something but did something else and now are doing something which they never wanted to
So below are few points which I believe the students need to follow –
For students –
1.Make your own choice so that you don’t regret later Like I told in the above phrases, don’t let your parents or your relatives decide a college or a course for you. It’s you who is aware of your pros and cons, so you decide what you want to study and what you want to become in future.
2.Never think “what people will say” Oh yes, this is one of the major problems for failure. Many of us don’t take decisions thinking what people will say or what people will think and we end up doing nothing. I say, JUST DO IT because it is always better to do something rather than doing nothing. And you never know, what success your decision could lead to.
3.Gain knowledge Not the certificate Okay, now let me come to the most important point. i.e., Gain knowledge, not the certificate. What I mean is, any course will give a certificate for completing it. But have you gained knowledge out of the course is my question. In other words, a course might find a job for you but only knowledge can make you the best for that job. So always gain as much as knowledge possible out of the course.
4. Learn out of Box You may be wanting to become an expert on something, which is great but along with that make sure you learn things out of the context. Why I say this is because the things that you learn will never go on a waste and will be useful in one or the other phase of your life. So, as I also personally believe, I recommend each one of you to be keep learning. No matter from where, when and how.
5.Set your goals and focus on them –  Many a times we fail because we don’t plan things properly. This could be getting up in the morning on time. So, it’s always good to have a plan for whatever you do. And regarding the selection of a course, think what are your interests and what are you good at and keep working on them with a goal to achieve.
I won’t be writing about the education system here but may be in the next article very soon.
I hope, the above mentioned are some of the instances which we might or might not have faced.
If you think you got something to learn today or something you got reminded, please write your thoughts on what else could be followed by the students for them to move in the right direction. Write if you have faced situations that restricted or encouraged you to take a decision that you think changed your life.
Last but not the least, I request the parents to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their children. Support your children and stand by them because you are the first and the best teachers.
